So... To carry on from the hijacked thread in the General Section

I think that having that type of discussion is a good thing Adrian as it gives a degree of transparency which I think is always important. If people can see the reasons why you do something they are more likely to understand it.

Other than those ones there are quite a few Hondas that look quite nice...

Sounds like a good time. Although dosn't it depend on how fast the world stops spinning? And imagen if it stopped so we had sunlight 24hrs and northeners had night time, would be crazy.

i used to own a RGV 250 a black one was bloody awesome. did have a problem with the back cylinder crappin out and they cant be bored out so was expensive to fix. always ran it on motul bit more expensive but never had any carbon build up. but that was my bike the guys in the shop said i had a lemon.

sweet as then enjoy they are alot of fun 8) i had a TZR250 aswell with a worked engine which went even better, i fixed all the stuff on the motor myself with that bike. :)

Had a few members ask how the two Primeras compare on the road, so did
a couple of tests last night, namely, 60-120k test.

Maria's Primera (P11 TE auto), tried 3 different methods.

1 Leave in auto, ramp up from 50ks, kicks down to 2nd, time from 60,
shifts out of 2nd at 110ks, wait till 120, stop timer.....10.5 seconds

2 Leave in auto as in 1, this time hold in 2nd gear manually till 7000rpm,
or 120ks, took 9.4 seconds.

3 Start from 40ks this time, it kicks down into 1st, start timer from 60, hold
in 2nd as in 2, this time it took 8.3 seconds.

Now, the CVT M6 wagon, ramp up from 50ks using tiptronic 2nd, stomp on
it and shift into 1st, start timer from 60, let it shift into 2nd at 80ks, then
hold shift lever in minus position until 120ks, stop timer.

Did two runs using the same method, 6.48 and 6.44 secs respectively.

The M6 definitely has great pickup from 60ks onwards.

Would be good to have figures from others, now that we have both P10
and P11 manual SR20VE's in the club, and if someone with an SR20DE
manual P10 and P11 can try it to see how all the models pan out.

Probably will, but I know the wagon will be slower in that area, but the
VE with the M6 tranny rocks for open road driving. Went to Auckland and
back today, blowing like crazy up there today.

0-60ks in the P11 TE auto was 5 flat
0-60ks in the CVT M6 wagon was 5.4 seconds (quicker than I thought it would be)

Crap weather down in Hamilvegas today. Musta dragged it down from
Auckland last night when we came back. I do enjoy driving Maria's mera
around town more than mine, it just feels peppier, but prefer the M6 on
the open road. Nicer ride, and way better for overtaking.

Can anyone help with this software problem?
Several months ago I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from Drinking Mates 4.2,
which I'd used for years without any trouble. However, there are apparently
conflicts between these two products and the only solution for system
stability was to try to run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off.
To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is also incompatible with several
other of my favourite applications, such as Lads' Night Out 3.1, Football 2
and JazzMag 6.1. Successive versions of Girlfriend have proved no better. I
tried a temporary uninstall of all Girlfriend utilities to test the
capability (on the advice of a friend) of a popular shareware beta-program,
Party Girl 2.1 - which though highly functional, had many bugs and left a
virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks,
after seeking costly (and embarrassing) professional help. Eventually I
tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to
discover terrifying system conflict when these two systems detected each
other, resulting in severe damage being caused to all my hardware. Sensing a
way out, I got an expensive diamondware patch to upgrade one of the
conflicting applications to Fiancee 1.0, only to discover that this product
has to be soon further upgraded to Wife 1.0. I did this largely because,
whilst Wife 1.0 uses up all available system resources, it does come bundled
with the awesome applications FreeSex Plus and Cleanhouse 2003.
However, I discovered that Wife 1.0 can be very unstable and costly to run.
For example, any mistakes I made were automatically stored in a hidden file
in Wife 1.0's memory and could not be deleted - they then re-surface months
later without any warning. Wife 1.0 also has an automatic Diary Explorer,
BeerNumber Calculator and E-mail porn filter, and can, without warning,
launch WhingeZip. Painterstrop Pro can also be a problem, but only about
every four weeks.
These latter products have no help files and require you to try and guess
the problem yourself. Additional costly problems are that the Wife 1.0
bundle, that came with the original system, needs updating and synching
regularly, requiring Shoe Shop Browser Pro for new attachments and Hairstyle
Express needs to be reinstalled every other week. It also conflicted with
some of the new games I wanted to try, stating that they are an illegal
operation. When Wife 1.0 attaches itself to my Nova program, it often
crashes or runs the system dry. Wife 1.0 also has a rather annoying
voice-prompt pop-up called Mother-in-Law, which can't be turned off.
Recently I've been tempted to try Mistress 2003, but there could be
problems, if Wife 1.0 detects the presence of Mistress 2003 it will delete
all MS Money files before automatically un-installing itself.
Any ideas?

Ford Explorer :-[ goes alright offroad and in the snow but thats about it, sucks gas and is slow as shit plus the clutch is poked. I'm still in North America though, will probably keep it for another 6 months

Okay, first things first. GTA and ALL games of that type are R18 games. As such, the parents should be regulating the use. Would you let your 9 year old watch an R18 movie? i think not.

The number 1 FPS (First Person Shooter) at the moment is the Halflife Orange Box, wherein you are transported to the future, to do battle with crabs that leap onto your head, suck out your brains for nourishment and control your every move from that point on. The number 2 FPS at the moment is currently Bioshock, set in the 1960s in an underwater city called Rapture, that has completely mastered the art of genetic engineering, allowing you to do awesome things like set fire to, and electrocute people with a click of the fingers.

I see you carefully evaluated the points in favour of reality (i.e. completely avoided them altogether).

Reality is a first person shooter set in the present time. The object is to do anything you damn-well want while building as large a stack of Primeras your available credits permit. You can choose to believe in whatever creation / evolution theories you like while still co-existing with billions of people, all of them different and many of whom are bound to be interesting / beautiful to you, which you can add to your 'friends list'. You can send instant messages to your friends by using one of your Primeras to approach them, winding the window down, and engaging in dialog with them and trying to steal their torque-wrench while they're not looking.

At various stages in the game you'll find different types of food ranging from hot, spicy curries to exotic and tasty sushi, which you can buy using the credits you have saved up. Not only does your life depend on these items, most of them are delicious and when you have amassed enough wisdom points you can choose only to partake in those that you find so. While saving / teleporting are not supported, you can travel anywhere on the globe (even into orbit if you have enough credits), and behold the world with unbounded resolution / polygons, even when the power is off - hell - even when dinner is ready and you mum wishes you upstairs. Even though surrealism is not to be found at any of these stages, many crops and minerals can be found throughout that will assist your imagination in conjuring up your own images of such. Like anything in reality, you can either mine these minerals yourself or exchange them for credits where you see sneakers hanging from powerlines.

As long as you're not completely devoid of social skills (and you have unlocked the hidden shower-stages) you can play the two-player version of the game, which is more difficult but also more satisfying. Some levels even let you spend credits in lieu of these social skills and provide a partner for a limited time, who simply vanishes after an hour's play without arguing how much they contributed to the high score and that their initials should be inscribed next to it. Over the years many 'cheat-codes' have also been discovered, for example, pausing at the bar stage and typing 'JAGERMEISTER' increases your chance of a two-, sometimes even three-player game. Alternatively it doesn't play out like that and you wake up with a road-cone and no eyebrows.

Before she says a word, Bob says, "I'll give you $800 to drop that towel"

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.

After a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.

When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, "Who was that?"

"It was Bob the next door neighbour," she replies.

"Great!" the husband says, "did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?"

Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Corporate Lesson 2:

A priest offered a lift to a Nun.

She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.

The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"

The priest removed his hand.

But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"

The priest apologized "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak."

Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, "Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory"

Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Corporate Lesson 3:

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out.

The Genie says, "I'll give each of you just one wish."

"Me first! Me first!" says the Admin Clerk. "I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world."

Poof! She's gone.

"Me next! Me next!" says the sales rep. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love

of my life.

Poof! He's gone.

"OK, you're up," the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, "I want those two back in the office after lunch."

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Corporate Lesson 4:

A turkey was chatting with a bull.

"Well, why don't you nibble on my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients".

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullsh�t might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

1920's, 30's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's

And early 80's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while
they carried us and lived in houses made of asbestos.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes or cervical cancer.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright coloured lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets or shoes, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a Ute on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

Take away food was limited to fish and chips, no pizza shops, McDonalds, KFC, Subway or Red Rooster.

Even though all the shops closed at 6.00pm and didn't open on the weekends, somehow we didn't starve to death!

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We could collect old drink bottles and cash them in at the corner store
and buy fruit tingles and some crackers to blow up frogs with.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soft drinks with
sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because......

WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were
back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.
We built tree houses and cubby houses and played in creek beds with matchbox cars.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video
games at all, no 99 channels on cable,
no video tape movies, no
surround sound,
no mobile
phones, no personal
computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE
HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
Lawsuits from these accidents.

Only girls had pierced ears!

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

You could only buy Easter Eggs and Hot Cross buns at Easter time.......no really!

We were given BB guns and sling shots for our 10th birthdays,

We drank milk laced with Strontium 90 from cows that had eaten grass covered in nuclear fallout from the atomic testing at Maralinga in 1956.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or
rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Mum didn't have to go to work to help dad make ends meet!

Footy had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

Our teachers used to belt us with big sticks and leather staps and bullies always ruled the playground at school.

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

Our parents got married before they had children and
didn't invent stupid names for their kids

like 'Kiora' and 'Blade'

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 70 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.

I gave him some advice and my cell phone number and away he went!! He saw the club stickers on my car --> Just goes to show ya that people do see the stickers ;D

Rod was more of a rallyer though - he's been doing Pikes Peak & the Race To The Sky for a few years now, and has got quite a history of rallying cars both in NZ and abroad. His son Rhys is a drifter in the states - last I heard he was drifting a monaro
