Title: 2001 P12 PROBLEMS CVT
Post by: Thc89kdw on 19 February, 2020, 11:59:01 AM
I've been having problems with my P12. Owned it for a week. It was in limp mode... Sport light on dash would flash 16x which Google says wrong trans fluid.. then it just stopped moving all together.. Ran dignostic and came back with 2 codes P1720 (Vehicle output speed sensor) and P1715 (in pulley speed). Any help would be appreciated...

I had that.  My CVT is fine but its speed sensor needed replacing (p1720).  Call Sensor Pro Limited Hutchinsons Road, Bucklands Beach, Auckland.  Tell them the error code and buy a replacement.  Go pick up the part and ask them to show you the part's location on  (it's near the starter motor on top of CVT, under throttle body...).  Quick and easy.  Part was $80 cost I think).  Fixing the error p1720 tells the part reporting p1715 errors that all is well so both can be cleared from fault log.  I hope.
