Title: Too cold for this
Post by: Grant on 30 June, 2019, 04:11:00 PM
Hi guys, I'm a little stumped I have a P12 wagon that has decided the cabin is warm enough at 2 deg and all but the weakest of warmth is to be expelled from the vents. The climate controls are all ok, with AC and fan being perfect but require of her any warmth when the temp drops below 5 deg outside and the resistance is strong with this one. Is there a common fault? or any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for showing kindness to a trainee eskimo.  ;D

Hi, what is the engine temperature doing? Is it consistently holding the engine temperature in the middle of the gauge once it's completed its initial warm-up?
If not, your thermostat is faulty.
If yes, then you'll need to do a check to see if the servo motor that controls the mix of cold air & hot air is working properly. It could well be stuck in the cold position. Another possibility is a blocked heater core.
