I want to get both of our cars checked out and then show whoever ends up being in the scrutineering sheds how the number system works and how to enter the information we need captured for each car/driver in to the excel spreadsheet on the laptop we will have. (I'll help out here as long as I can until we need to start racing)

Bring the jack anyway Vince.. dont think we should need to be jacking cars up for the safety checking.. but might come in hand for people changing wheels or if someone has some issue that needs looking under their car.. (we will be bringing our tool chest with assorted tools)

Hey Joe - I can't get on MSN at Uni, so this is more a msg for you... but others should know.  I've just had a phone call from Performance Car, they want me to take photos of the day, which they'll then put in the magazine... cause they have drifting on the same day, they aren't able to send one of their photographers down... and I'm good mates with the editor.

So we'll need someone in the tower that can operate the spreadsheet we've made, together we can teach someone how to use it... and i'll be free before racing to help with the entering of the data to begin with into the laptop... but during the day I'll be taking photos.

I'll still be free to float around and help with other stuff... But I think most people would like to see the event in performance car, so if I don't do this - it wont be...

So we need someone who can sit in the tower, and type in the car's ID when they are lining up, and then time it runs, and the speed it ran at... click the print button, then rip the A5 piece of paper down the middle (it will be perforated), then give the slips to the drivers (I believe there is some kinda shoot thingy that sends the slip down...) and then read the details over the mic... Will probably need a few people doing this.

So who wants to put their hand up to operate the spreadsheet?

this might be a dumb question but i've never been to the drags, how is the time recorded? do people have to manually take down the time or is there some sort of timing device?
