Racing Slips
« on: 13 May, 2007, 09:17:17 PM »
Thought I'd start a topic about all the racing slip stuff I'm doing...

First off does anyone have any of their time slips scanned in?  I've never really looked at one to see what info you have on it besides the obvious...  We've decided the size of the slip with be half an A5 peice of paper... so we can print one A5 with both lanes on each side, then cut it down the middle :D

Cheers :)

A few more would be cool - anyone?

Also, Greg, do you know what info we'll be able to get?  I.e. reaction times... etc

Are we getting the timing gear for 60ft times though ? I thought not.. but yeah half an A5 will be a good size.. anyone with a small portable guillotine - cos that will make cutting them in half a whole lot easier ?

Instead of cutting the A5 can we get one each or something..

Be good to see LEFT & RIGHT hand lane results for the race rather than just our own if you half the paper.

[disclaimer] disregard if I have wrong end of the stick

Nah mate.. it will be two copies of the same time slip on the one A5 that is cut in half so each racer can have a copy.

The club system has no timing boards on it, so no. Will be up to whoever the club puts on the mike to let the crowd know times.

The full timing system costs no more for champion to run, this i know for sure, it just comes down to the proper system cost them more to buy, so they use the cheap system for cheap hires of the track.

At the moment we're working on a way to display the times on a monitor away from the tower... but the times will be read over the mic by myself, or who ever helps me out on the day...

The time slips will be printed after each race :D
