Tyre max pressure rating

Do you still follow the tyre pressure that's on your door stickers if you change your tyres to one which has a higher max pressure?

For example, if the original tyres has a max pressure of 41psi and you changed the tyres to ones that have a max pressure of 51psi, do you still fill them up to 34psi?

yes; you do need to bump your pressures up slightly if you change to a lower-profile tyre or are loading the car up with heaps of gear.  I would suggest 38psi as the maximum, and that's with 215/40R17's.
