Dead P10
« on: 13 August, 2017, 01:52:44 PM »
Hey I have a dead P10 that wont start. Starter turns over, car has spark and fuel. Used a code reader on it and it said it was the camshaft sensor so got a secondhand distributor from a parts place and still no luck. Any ideas?

I'd do a compression test, and take the rocker cover off just for a look see. Does it sound like its cranking properly? I've seen the can gears sheer off when the cams seize due to the " lube tubes " in the head congealing up with gunk. Did you set the timing after changing dizzy properly? I cant remember now if they are keyed so they can't be 180° out but when no.1 pistons at the top and both no.1 can lobes point outwards with both valves closed is tdc and rotor should be pointing to no.1 contact in the cap.
