NZPPCC 2017 National MeetSaturday 25th & Sunday 26th March, 2017
Taupo / Taupo Motorsport ParkTo celebrate the club's 15 years of marvellous existence, we are congregating in Taupo - come join us!
List of attendees
Timetable: - Across the whole weekend, there will be an amazing-race style "Gumboot Rally" which we will refer to as the "Gumbo Rally". This will tie the event together - watch this space.
Friday: - For those who are travelling during the day, a beer awaits you with a short walk to a hot pool at Taupo DeBretts.
Saturday: - Mid-morning official welcome (location TBC);
- Afternoon drive and show'n'shine;
- Dinner / annual prizegiving at Taupo Lonestar
Sunday: - Trackday at Taupo in connection with Playday;
- Arrive at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park between 8 and 9am for registration and a 9:20am driver briefing
- Familiarisation laps are at approx. 9:45am with sessions starting at 10am
- Prizegiving and wrap up late afternoon.
- Members to make their own ways home, when they wish.
It is likely that there will be some members in Taupo on the Friday but the official events will kick off on Saturday morning. As a rule of thumb, the Friday could be a great idea for social activities - given the early Sunday morning that follows the Saturday night!
More info on the trackday: - There are 4 groups; one NZPPCC group (20 cars), one Karting group and two Prestige Groups (so it seems).
- We will be using track 1.
- Each group will have a 15 minute session, each hour (can expect 6ish sessions, provided there are no major delays). Take 12 minutes of track pace, then 3 minutes to cool down and come off the track
- All drivers must be licensed and are to wear closed shoes, grease-free 100% cotton overalls (or race overalls) and a helmet. This protective gear must all be in good condition.
- Passengers will only be allowed in caged vehicles - except for the familiarisation laps where you are free to bring friends and family out on the track.
For any further queries, check the
FAQ page on Playday's website.
- You will not need a cage to go on the track - only if you are taking passengers out.
Trackday fees:Payable directly to the club account (below):
$120 for paid members
$150 with a year's free club subscription (incl. stickers, member pack etc) for non-paid members
Accommodation:Taupo DeBretts have offered us 10% off their usual pricing for those who mention they are a part of the Primera and Pulsar Car Club. This is available right up until the event. Members are encouraged to stay here, but it is not compulsory.
The idea is that everyone organises their own accommodation; ie. make a group of friends who want to stay the same number of nights (out of Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and book yourselves. Alternatively, indicate you need some temporary flatmates by posting in this thread and your wish shall be granted! DeBretts have indicated that the 10 or so rooms that they've set aside will be held for NZ Primera & Pulsar Car Club members until
2nd December with payment in advance. My advice would be to get in quick! There will be a separate post on accommodation packages.
How to sign up:To indicate your attendance, simply:
