2016 National Meet; Manfeild; 27 - 28 February
« on: 21 September, 2015, 10:32:33 AM »

NZPPCC 2016 National Meet

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th February, 2016
Manawatu / Manfeild Autocourse

Timetable:

Saturday:
 - Mid-morning welcome (location TBC)
 - Afternoon drive with a show and shine event at the destination (location TBC)
 - Dinner / annual prizegiving in the evening (probably in Palmerston North)

Sunday:
 - Trackday at Manfeild in connection with Playday;
     - Arrive at Manfeild track between 8 and 9am for registration and a 9:20am driver briefing
     - Familiarisation laps are at approx. 9:45am with sessions starting at 10am
 - Prizegiving and wrap up late afternoon.
 - Members to make their own ways home, when they wish.

More info on the trackday:
     - There are 4 groups; one driver training (12 cars), one NZPPCC group (18 cars) and two general public groups (with the option for us to spill over to one of these)
    - Each group will have a 15 minute session, each hour (can expect 6ish sessions, provided there are no major delays). Take 12 minutes of track pace, then 3 minutes to cool down and come off the track
     - All drivers must be licensed and are to wear closed shoes, grease-free 100% cotton overalls (or race overalls) and a helmet.  This protective gear must all be in good condition.
     -  Passengers will only be allowed in caged vehicles - except for the familiarisation laps where you are free to bring friends and family out on the track.
For any further queries, check the .

Driver training group: (from Tony @ Playday)
The driver training group is for anyone who wants to improve their driving skills, in a relaxed, low key, fun & friendly environment where you will learn a lot about car control and become a more competent & safer driver.

The day starts with some classroom instruction & during the day one of the instructors will ride with you to provide in car instruction.

We will run pace cars in the group so you can follow them & learn the best way around the corners (no passing & no tail gating) & we will start slowly & gradually increase the speed.

Between sessions the head instructor will answer questions & discuss what you have been doing & what he wants you to do next.

By the afternoon your confidence & ability will have increased significantly.

Mid-afternoon we will give you the option to remove the pace car so you can then drive as quickly as you want to, you will need a Helmet & 100% cotton or race overalls to do this part.

We are allocating 1 Group to Driver Training so you will be on the Track for 6 sessions throughout the day.
The training groups have proven very popular in the past with most people telling us how much fun they had & how amazed they are at how much they have learned.
Places are limited, so book early.

Trackday fees:Here are some pictures from past National Meets:

To indicate your attendance, simply:
 - reply to this thread
 - send one of the committee members a PM - Kieran (more_fasterer), Rob (robbo), Greg (NOGR1P-O), Callum (PulsarGTI) or myself Nick (N14_NEO).
 - email nick@primeracarclub.co.nz

For track day entries; pay $110 for paid members or $140 for non-paid members to:

NZ Primera & Pulsar Car Club
02-1244-0078132-000

Use your username as a reference (and surname, if you wish).

This is where we have organised to be staying:

Palmerston North Holiday Park

Though the trackday is in Feilding, Palmerston North is going to play host for the Saturday afternoon show'n'shine and the dinner at night. It's central, spacious, cheap enough and has enough variety for different sized groups.

The idea is that everyone organises their own accommodation; ie. make a group of friends who want to stay the same number of nights (out of Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and book yourself. No special password, you may have to give a deposit though. My advice would be to get in quick!

See YOU there!

When letting me know that you want to enter the trackday, please stipulate which group you would like to be placed in; normal or training group. I would highly recommend the "driver training" group - you are essentially receiving all the training benefits for free - given it is the same price.
A qualified instructor will give you guidance on how to best set up your driving position, the most useful driving techniques, the best driving lines (especially useful for Manfeild with a couple of tricky longer corners), go out as a passenger with you, give you a pace car to drive behind and answer any questions you have.
This is a great opportunity to get more familiar with your machine and connect your brain to your driving appendages! - a must for anyone who's not been on Manfeild before, too.
At this stage, there are ONLY 12 spots available. So be in quick to secure your spot in this exclusive offer.

For those who have already entered, please let me know which group I should place you in, cheers.

I would like to be in the driver training group too!

A question for you Nick, Say someone has had 2 sessions with an instructor. Would we then be able to go without the instructor after that? Also if we did decide to, could we switch with somebody else if they would like a turn with the instructor?

Details are all above, but yes for a normal road car, WOF and REG and will be scrutinered before you get on the track.

Here's a good post Darryl prepared to give you some guidance from our last track day...

Sorry I missed this!

For road cars - a current WoF and Rego.
For race cars (ie. can't / don't get WoFs) a MSNZ logbook. PM me with any special requests / your requirements and I'll let you know anything more you need to :)

Question.

I have been to a Playday Track day and i don't recall needing a fire extinguisher as mentioned in the link below for track day prep. Do we follow the rules set by Playday or do we have our own in terms of scrutineering?

I feel like having a fire extinguisher is beneficial no matter what the rules say..... I wouldn't track my car without knowing that if there was a fire in my car I could try and tackle it before getting assistance from a marshal. I know every track day I've been to has required one...

We follow the Playday rules - they are running the track day, not us (like Taupo). That being said, regardless of whether or not Playday require you to have an extinguisher, my eyes align with Jeremy's - I can't find anything on it on their website atm.

Given you would've had one for Taupo 2014, why would you take it out?
