NZPPCC:
When and why did you first get your Primera / Pulsar?
Hamish:
NZPPCC:
And what were your original plans for your car and how have they changed?
Hamish:
NZPPCC:
What performance modifications have you made to your car?
Hamish:
NZPPCC:
What mods have you made to the exterior/interior?
Hamish:
NZPPCC:
What do you love best about your Primera / Pulsar?
Hamish:
That I have tried to do an N13 in NZ some justice. They are a great base to work from as evidenced by some awesome projects around the world, however they have largely been ignored here.
NZPPCC:
Any future modifications planned that we should know about?
Hamish:
Mainly the overall health of the engine needs to established, then a piggy back ECU of some sort, tune plus a thousand small things which are common at this late stage of a build. There is a second CA18DET with the more desirable 4 port head in the garage that will probably get swapped in at some stage.
If / when the power steering starts to leak I will swap to a manual rack in order to complete the engine bay tidy up.
NZPPCC:
If money was no object what would you do to your car?
Hamish:
Buy more free time to finish it.
NZPPCC:
Do you have any performance figures, 1/4 mile times or lap times?
Hamish:
Not yet, have only done a few shake down test drives so far.
NZPPCC:
Hamish:
Pizza, rum & coke.
NZPPCC:
Favourite television programme?
Hamish:
The Prisoner.
NZPPCC:
Are you married, have a partner or are you single and looking?
Hamish:
Single.
NZPPCC:
What sort of cars have you owned in the past?
Hamish:
Currently have a Libero GT as another long term project.
Until recently I had a third N13 which I rescued as a $1 reserve trademe auction. Tidied it up, got it legal again and dailyed it for two years until the GA15S expired. Callum (committee member) now owns the car.
NZPPCC:
What is your favourite road to drive?
Hamish:
Port hills / Lyttelton tunel loop.
NZPPCC:
Do you prefer show, street, circuit or drag?
Hamish:
Circuit.
NZPPCC:
Hamish:
N13!
NZPPCC:
Hamish:
While working on my first N13 5 years ago. Once this one is roadworthy I look forward to attending some club meets.
NZPPCC:
Any last comments you would like to make?
Hamish:

Having seen this car in person, I can say this is probably one of the coolest builds I've had the chance to look at, the attention to detail and the quality of the work that has gone into it is amazing. Congrats Hamish, can't wait to see this thing out and about!

Beautiful car, surely has to be the nicest N13 in NZ if not the world? Having now driven one with actually reasonable power, probably my favourite Pulsar chassis, they're so much more involving and interesting than the N14 and N15.
If your 8-port CA18DET ever needs a home, I happen to have an N13 here that definitely doesn't need 200+hp...

Great car mate. Congratulations
Always nice to see someone walking to the beat of their own drum.
Must be a bit of a weapon, being light weight with turbo power!

Great to see you forging your own path Hamish, and doing a damn fine job of it too.
What are the units on top of the dash?
