Topic: Recovered forum, now with a new look *PLEASE READ*

Well, it's taken 4 days, but I have managed to restore the forum - more or less.

The current state of the forum is:

- Any posts between 8:40pm on Friday 8th and 7:30pm on Wednewsday 13th November have been lost.
- All private messages are not showing.  You can send new PM's, however.
- Any threads that were stickied are now not.  These will get fixed manually.
- All polls have been lost, however the threads associated with these remain.

I've also updated the forum with a new look & feel, I hope you like it.


So, what happened?

I attempted to perform a software upgrade as planned and announced in this thread, which was unsuccessful and rendered the forum unusable.  I then attempted to restore the site from the 2x backups that I had taken immediately prior to the upgrade.  This is where shit really started to turn sour, as I found that both backups were missing vital parts of the forum's database.  I then asked our webhosting provider (A Small Orange) to restore the forum from the daily server backups they take, and found that these had the same problem.  Seeing as I used the hosting provider's backup tool to take these backups, it is now grossly apparent to me that they have an issue with this tool, which I have raised with them.


If you experience any issues with the forum other than those I have described above, please let me know and I will attempt to fix them.

Yeah that's a work in progress, I'm trying to figure out how to get the pictures to automatically resize according to the page width.

If your avatar and signature are missing, you will need to re-add them yourself.  The reason why my avatar and signature picture are working is because they are just hyperlinks to pictures that are hosted elsewhere.

Update on the PM's... all of the PM's you have sent are still in your "Sent Items".  The recipients have been lost however, so you'll have to work out for yourself who each PM was sent to.

8:05pm on 17/11/2013... Looks right to me. Maybe check your timezone settings? The time offset under Profile -> Look & Layout should be 0.
