Redline shifting while driving
« on: 01 October, 2018, 09:12:02 PM »
I have a '97 VZR. Sometimes it'll bounce off the redline at 7000 rpm, other times it'll go all the way up to 8500 It's making it really hard to know when I need to shift. Anyone know of a possible cause? ECU issue maybe? (I just bought the car 9 months ago, so not too sure what ECU/tune it has)

It will do that by design if it's not up to temp yet. If it is fully warmed up and doing it then your water temp sensor may be faulty.
