P12 cam timing
« on: 03 August, 2018, 01:17:22 PM »
I have searched the forum - some discussion about cam timing , P11vs p12 etc. But can't find specific info on cam timing for P12. Am about to take cams out, head off.
The manual I have downloaded seems to have a different intake cam arrangement for the advance system. It requires pressurising an oil hole in top of head and advancing cam and pinning in place before removing sprocket. My engine (2001 P12) does not seem to have this oil hole and no pin hole in end of cam housing to pin it. Anyone had this issue before I try and pull the cams?
Can post a pic if it helps.
Thanks
Alan

The 2.0l. The P12 manuals I downloaded only seem to cover up to 1.8. From Utube pics it has more in common, cam wise with the 2.5l Sentra. I ended up loosing the cam chain tensioner pin down in to motor. Pulled most of the covers off now to get it out. Seems to follow the 2.5 format exactly.
